Our Ministries

At our annual Festival of Trees event, a portion of the proceeds goes towards supporting Missions Outreach. Additionally, we have other donations, as well as funds allocated in our annual operating budget to help address a wide range of needs, not just locally, but also in our state, nation, and even globally. We are proud to call ourselves “The Little Church with the BIG Heart” and are committed to finding effective ways to create positive change for those who need it most. This year, we have helped several local families in need of fuel, food, and personal items through our Pastor’s Discretionary Fund. Tea and Lectionary

Meet together weekly to enjoy discussion about upcoming gospels and readings while sharing a cup of tea! Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Honoring Those Who Serve

Twice a year Windham Hill UCC sends cards expressing our appreciation, love and gratitude to many military personnel and first responders associated with our congregation. Through the generosity of donations, we are able to enclose a gift card with each greeting. This ministry began back in 2003 when our familiy members and good friends were deployed to foreign combat areas. Started in honor of Catherine Olson, a proud World War II Women’s Army Corps veteran and mother of one of our congregants, the tradition has continued for every Christmas and Fourth of July for over 20 years.

Free Community Meal Partnership

Four Windham area churches; St. Ann’s Episcopal, Faith Lutheran, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Windham Hill UCC have joined with Wayside Food Program again this fall to continue providing free community suppers on Thursday nights from 5:30-6:30PM. All are welcome. No RSVP required.

Called to Care:

Windham Hill UCC has a trained group of lay persons ready to help with home visitations and palliative/hospice situations.

Grace Street Ministry

Grace Street Ministry is an outreach ministry offering a consistent, compassionate, pastoral presence to the homeless and marginalized in downtown Portland, Maine. Windham Hill UCC supports these efforts through yearly collection of clothing, gift cards and funds. Proceeds from sales of our Blessing Bags at our annual Holiday Fair are donated to support the important work of these dedicated pastors.

Holiday Meals for Local Families

On Sunday, November 25th we blessed our many generous donations to our Windham Food Pantry. The Food Pantry provides full holiday meals to all who want/need them. Windham Hill UCC wants to ensure that there is plenty of food not only for the Thanksgiving holiday, but to restock the shelves for those who continue to need food in the weeks afterward.
